Passenger train service may be heading to Daytona

In about three years, passenger service could return to Florida East Coast Railway tracks for the first time in more than four decades, and a new train station in Daytona Beach could revitalize a depressed pocket of the downtown area.
That's some of the good news that came out of a meeting Thursday morning at Cocoa City Hall, where about 65 leaders from the towns where the Amtrak passenger service would make stops gathered to share what they're doing to try to make the passenger line a reality.
Nearly everyone who spoke in front of the group began by saying how excited they are for the chance to draw tourists, sprout new businesses and offer a new mode of transportation. Continued
