Minots Train Derailment: 10 Year Anniversary

At 1:38 a.m. on a cold, still night, 31 train cars derailed west of Minot and right next to the Teirrecita Vallejo neighborhood. Eight of those cars split open and what spilled out was a familiar, but toxic chemical, anhydrous ammonia. A resident of Teirrecia Vallejo, John Grabinger tried to get out of his home, but the thick fog of toxic gas became too much and he died. 1300 more residents would receive medical attention.
