Crews deal with aftermath of train derailment in Margaretta Township

MARGARETTA TOWNSHIP — Crews are cleaning up a train derailment on Barrett Road in Margaretta Township that occurred yesterday afternoon, according to Margaretta Township Fire Department Lt. Tom Johnson.
The train was coming from Conway, Pa., and going to Elkhart, Ind., when it derailed, according to Dave Pidgeon, of Norfolk Southern.
The cause of the derailment is still under investigation, however he stated that of the 12 cars that derailed, 11 were empty and one was carrying sand. Continued
