Maintaining Tunkhannock Viaduct a huge undertaking

Once dubbed a "wonder of the world" by local residents, the historic Tunkhannock Viaduct is still looming 240 feet over Nicholson nearly a century after construction began in 1915.
And it is going to continue to loom over the town, Mike LoVecchio, a Canadian Pacific Railroad representative, said as the bridge is entering it's third year of a multiyear "preventive maintenance" program.
"The Tunkhannock Viaduct is in the midst of a multiyear plan to preserve and protect the structure," Mr. LoVecchio said. "We are currently retouching the concrete on the bridge to make sure it is still safe to use." Continued
