JaxPort gets $10 million for work on railroad yard

The Jacksonville Port Authority will get a $10 million federal grant for a railroad yard where cargo containers will be transferred between ships and trains.
JaxPort had sought $25 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the $45 million project, with state funds expected to pay the rest of the cost.
JaxPort officials said the federal support helps advance the project, but project still faces a significant funding gap. The railroad yard would be built near the TraPac terminal by the Dames Point bridge. Continued
