Committee formed to preserve Nickel Plate depot

Time is running out for the Village of Angola to utilize state funding to restore and relocate the historic Nickel Plate railroad depot.
Preservation efforts for the 1882 depot, which is considered the last known Nickel Plate station in New York State, secured $15,000 from former Assemblyman Jack Quinn in 2006, so that a permanent home for the depot could be established.
Yet the window to use the state funds shuts in March, making those committed to the restoration efforts worry that if they don’t move it, they’ll lose it. Continued
