Bellingham protesters block railroad tracks, intersection

About 100 protesters blocked railroad tracks and an intersection near downtown Bellingham Monday, Dec. 12, in what they said was a show of solidarity with Occupy Oakland and other events aimed at shutting down ports on the West Coast.
Some of the protesters chained themselves together with bicycle locks around their necks. Bellingham police warned that they would begin making arrests at about 3 p.m., when the next train was scheduled to run on the tracks, if protesters did not move. Continued
