Amtrak touts Thanksgiving ridership numbers

The holidays did not just provide a boost to the sales figures of retailers — officials from Amtrak said Wednesday their numbers were up too.
The national passenger rail service said Wednesday that projections showed 720,000 people traveled by train over the Thanksgiving weekend, which would be a new record for Amtrak over the holiday. In 2010, the agency said 704,446 riders took to railways over Thanksgiving. Continued
