Vandals plague railroad

COOS BAY - Vandals have pulled out spikes, stolen tie plates and tampered with switches on the Coos Bay Rail link.
The track damage derailed one lumber car on a slow-moving train of four near Noti last week, said David Koch, the Port’s chief operating officer, at the Port of Coos Bay commissioners’ monthly meeting Thursday night.
Investigation revealed that someone had torn up 600 spikes and 200 tie plates. Continued
