Train strikes construction vehicle; two workers injured

JOLIET TOWNSHIP — A bridge contractor was critically injured when a freight train struck the lift truck he was using early Friday.
Joliet firefighters and Will County Sheriff’s police were called at 3:12 a.m. to the underside of the Interstate 80 bridge over the Des Plaines River near Gardner Street.
