Old Jeffersonville railroad freight depot restored by state

Construction is almost finished on one part of the Ohio River Bridges Project — the restoration of a former Jeffersonville railroad depot dating to the early 20th century.
The freight depot, at 1030 Spring St., was built by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, according to research into historic structures that are near the approach to the planned downtown bridge over the Ohio River.
To mitigate the impact of the bridge on Southern Indiana’s historic buildings and atmosphere, the Indiana Department of Transportation committed to renovate and preserve the depot, historian Carl Kramer said. Continued
