Mudslides halt Amtrak service between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.

Amtrak Cascades has temporarily suspended trains between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C., due to mudslides near Everett, the state Transportation Department reports.
BNSF Railways, which owns the railroad tracks, automatically stops passenger trains for 48 hours after a mudslide to ensure the area is stable.
Sounder service also was cancelled Wednesday north of Seattle, Sound Transit announced. Continued
