Civil suit over arrest ends in railroad’s favor

WENATCHEE — A Chelan County jury found a major railroad was not negligent in a confrontation between one of its security officers and a shutterbug chiropractor.
The jury verdict Friday in favor of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway turned back the lawsuit by Ivan Christensen, who was arrested in 2005 for trespassing on railroad property. Christensen, now 68, claimed to have suffered a shoulder injury in his confrontation with BNSF Senior Special Agent MacLeod.
MacLeod made the arrest while Christensen was at the BNSF parking lot at Thurston and Columbia streets photographing trains to create souvenir calendars. Continued
