North Metro commuter train to spur redevelopment of stock show area

With RTD poised to spend $90 million running the first leg of the North Metro commuter train line to the National Western Stock Show, the area around the site is teed up for redevelopment whether or not the complex moves to a new location.
Stock show officials recently said they are considering a possible move to an area near Denver International Airport as part of a project that would include a giant Western-themed hotel and entertainment complex.
Even as the stock show weighs its options, Denver planners are moving forward with ideas for redeveloping the area, especially within a half-mile radius of the planned National Western rail station just north of East 48th Avenue and Brighton Boulevard. Continued
