PITTSFIELD, Mass. - A proposed Housatonic Railroad link connecting the Berkshires directly to New York’s Grand Central Terminal looks like it would represent a significant boon for the region. By the end of this month, a study by Williams College economist Stephen Sheppard is expected to provide the rail line with the information it needs to seek mostly private investment in the $200 million project.
