Train derails: NTSB releases investigation records

(rrstar) The National Transportation Safety Board has made public more than 200 documents, photographs and audio recordings that recreate in meticulous detail the derailment of a Canadian National train in Cherry Valley two years ago. The volumes of information signal the wind-down of the information-gathering phase of the NTSB’s investigation into the June 19, 2009, derailment of Canadian National 5789 as it crossed Mulford Road. The derailment resulted in an ethanol-fueled fire that killed one woman and injured nine other people. Continued
